Well it's been a super busy summer and I have raft of plans including some new visual essays on textile & pattern history from around the world as well as some new prints in development. I really enjoyed participating in Maker Faire earlier this spring – we had over 120 people come and print at our booth! It got me thinking about this really accessible method of textile design and how easy it is to set up a print station at home to make all sorts of textiles either for yourself or as gifts. I’m thinking table linens, totes, t-shirts – basically anything you can stamp on - and who doesn’t love to receive a beautiful AND useful gift?
It got me drawing again and I’m now in development on a new collection of block printed pillows and other goodies to be released in the next few months. Abstract designs, 3D shapes and geometric repeat patterns are in the works. If you want to see the behind the scenes development of the prints, just head over to Instagram
or check out the ANTIPOD Facebook
page. I’m quite partial to Instagram these days in particular as it’s such an easy place to quickly share work, get feedback and connect to people all over the world. I’d love to hear from any of you which social media platforms you prefer?
And because summer's coming to a close I also wanted to do an Instagram giveaway - just click the picture to see the contest on Instagram and you can win your choice of pillow cover from the ARTIFACT collection!
